These Terms & Conditions explain how Harrogate Removals Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides removal, packing, and storage services. By booking our services or accepting a quotation, you agree to the terms below.

Our Services

We provide:

• House and domestic removals

• Office and commercial removals

• Piano and specialist item removals

• Optional packing services

• Short-term and long-term storage (subject to availability)

• Dismantling and re assembly of furniture as agreed

Services provided will be those confirmed in your quotation or booking.

Quotations

• Quotations are based on the information you provide and are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

• Prices may change if the volume, access, value, or nature of items differs from what was declared.

• Additional charges may apply if extra services are required or conditions differ on the day.

Booking, Deposit & Payment

• A booking is confirmed once you accept our quotation.

• A £150 non-refundable deposit is required on booking

• The remaining balance is payable as stated on your invoice, usually on the day before commencement of the move.

• Late payments may incur statutory interest.

Subcontracting

We may subcontract all or part of the work to suitably qualified third parties. This does not affect our responsibility to you under these Terms & Conditions.

Your Responsibilities

You must:

• Provide accurate details about all items to be moved or stored

• Declare any items that are heavy, fragile, unusual, or high-value

• Ensure items are packed unless you have booked our packing service

• Disconnect appliances and prepare items unless agreed otherwise

• Arrange parking permits and ensure safe access at both addresses

• Bring items down from a loft or attic space where it isn't suitably boarded

We are not responsible for delays or additional costs caused by failure to meet these responsibilities.​

Packing Services

• When packing is booked, we use suitable materials and reasonable care.

• Items packed by us are covered in line with these terms and any insurance selected.

• Items packed by you or a third party are moved at your own risk unless damage is caused by our negligence.

Piano & Specialist Removals

• Pianos and specialist items must be declared in advance.

• Additional charges may apply depending on access, size, or complexity.

• We may refuse to move items that cannot be moved safely or were not agreed in advance.

Storage

• Storage is subject to availability and agreement.

• Stored goods remain your property at all times.

• Perishable, hazardous, flammable, illegal, or explosive items must not be stored.

• Storage charges must be paid as agreed.

• We may withhold release of goods until all outstanding charges are paid.

Delays & Events Beyond Our Control

We are not liable for delays or failure to carry out services due to circumstances beyond our control, including traffic, weather, accidents, breakdowns, or industrial action.

Liability & Claims

• We take reasonable care of goods while they are in our custody.

• Our liability is limited in accordance with UK law and the level of insurance selected.

• We are not liable for:​

  • Pre-existing damage or normal wear and tear

  • Items packed by you or third parties

  • Fragile or specialist items unless agreed in writing

• Any claims for loss or damage must be made in writing within 7 days of delivery or removal from storage.

Insurance

• We carry appropriate goods-in-transit and public liability insurance.

• Additional insurance cover may be available on request and must be arranged before the move.

Cancellations

• Cancellations must be made in writing.

• Cancellation charges may apply depending on notice given

• The £150 booking deposit is non-refundable.

Complaints

If you have a complaint, please contact us as soon as possible. We aim to resolve issues fairly and promptly.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the English courts.
